WEIHNACHTSFREUDE: THE LATEST FROM THE BACH AKADEMIE AUSTRALIA

The Bach Akademie Australia will stream their third concert of the year from the stage of the National Art School.

Join the Akademie for a program of Christmas Joy to celebrate the coming season which will be all the more meaningful for us all after the events of 2020.

The music of J.S. Bach once again provides endless inspiration and hope. The Akademie’s four wonderful vocalists will feature in Bach’s motet ‘Lobet den Herrn’, and his ebullient cantata for Christmas, ‘Ich freue mich in dir’, which Sir John Eliot Gardiner describes as conveying the ‘sheer exhilaration of Christmas.’

Neal Peres Da Costa will shine in the fiendishly difficult but joyful Brandenburg Concerto No. 5, as will tenor Richard Butler and alto Hannah Fraser in two beautiful arias from Part II of Bach’s Christmas Oratorio.
