THE SERPENT’S TEETH: THE TRUE COST OF ARMED CONFLICT. GIVEAWAY.

Winner of the NSW Premier’s Literary Awards, THE SERPENT’S TEETH is acclaimed Australian playwright. Daniel Keene’s unflinching look at the true human cost of armed conflict.  A company of fifteen actors from across nine cultural backgrounds tackle this searing look at global conflict.

Spanning two narratives – Citizens and Soldiers – Sydney/London director Kristine Landon-Smith directs a 15-strong cast in a study of human frailty and the insidious effects of global tensions.

Citizens is set at the dividing wall of an unspecified war-torn country where a series of unconnected exchanges between ordinary people transpire as they go about their day-to-day lives. A picture of life is revealed in the fragments of the interchanges between vulnerable people where the human spirit is carefully probed and laid bare.

Soldiers is set in an air force hangar in Sydney, where family members gather to receive the bodies of their sons, brothers, husbands and friends lost in a conflict that they may not have supported.

THE SERPENT’S TEETH will play at the King’s Cross Theatre 9-24 November.
