We’ve missed you! We’re delighted to announce that the Library will reopen at 10am on Wednesday 3 June 2020 for pre-booked, ticketed access. We know how much you’ve missed your National Library, and we’re thrilled to be able to welcome you back—slowly—to use the collections.
The first area to open will be the Special Collections Reading Room, where we will be welcoming 20 visitors per session to access pre-requested collection material.
- You can book one three-hour session per day. The sessions are from 10am to 1pm or 2pm to 5pm.
- There are two sessions per day, Monday to Friday.
- You can request up to 10 collection items per session. You must request them two business days prior to your booked session via the Catalogue.
- The Special Collections Reading Room and visitor facilities will be comprehensively cleaned between each session.
Please read our News page and Frequently Asked Questions for more information about what will be open, planning your visit and making a booking.
We will be progressively increasing our reading rooms services and opening hours in line with the ACT Government’s COVID-19 Easing of Restrictions Roadmap.
