THE CARETAKER. NEARLY 60 YEARS ON – EVEN MORE RELEVANT. GIVEAWAY

Legendary absurdist playwright, Harold Pinter’s masterpiece is coming.  THE CARETAKER is one of the most brilliant contemporary classics of our time and is a must-see.

Following its premiere nearly 60 years ago, THE CARETAKER remains as relevant today as ever with issues of identity, power, family and mental illness. It will be presented by Throwing Shade Theatre Company (Metamorphosis, Vincent River) in association with theatrongroup (Anna in the Tropics, Greek Tragedy and The Importance of Being Earnest).

THE CARETAKER follows the story of Aston who lives in a junk filled room in personal and emotional isolation. His brother, Mick, inhabits his own world of aspirations but is held back by having to care for his vulnerable brother. When Aston provides shelter to a tramp he has rescued off the street, a battle of wits begins as the three try to manipulate the situation to achieve their respective ends. As the play unfolds, so does the mystery of how the lives of these three men will forever be changed.

This new production of THE CARETAKER boasts stage and screen stars Alex Bryant-Smith, Nicholas Papademetriou, and Helpmann Award winner, Yalin Ozucelik.

THE CARETAKER plays Riverside Theatres and Glen Street Theatre.
