Trevor Ashley in  THE BODYBAG: The Panto

Multi-award winning superstar Rachel Marinade (Trevor Ashley) is one of the most successful entertainers ever to have come runner-up on Australian Idol*.  But after a spate of creepy “fan mail” it’s clear that Rachel needs protection.  Not only that, after being charged in local court for holding a fake driver’s license, she also needs transport.

Enter ex-ASIO officer, and current Uber driver Tank Charmer (Gus Murray). It’s not only his job to protect her – but to get her to her destination with 5 stars.  Who knew they could fall in lust?

With a cast of complicated characters including a bitchy sister, an ab-riddled backup dancer and Rachel’s ambitious ten year old daughter, hear all the songs you know, like you’ve never heard, or wanted to hear them before.  Expect a plethora of 90’s divas coming down from a coke-fueled bender.

Hot off the heels of him appearing in the recent tour of The Bodyguard : The Musical, Heath Keating joins the cast playing not only Rachel Marinade’s incredibly buff stalker, but all of the staff at Marinade Manor.  Prior to the totally unrelated The Bodyguard, Heath’s diverse range of talents have been seen on stage in top touring productions including Hairspray – The Musical, A Chorus Line, Handa Opera’s Carmen, and Grease – The Musical.

On screen, Heath featured in the Top 11 dancers on Season 3 of Channel 10’s So You Think You Can Dance, and has performed on The X Factor, The Logies, Sunrise, Today and Dancing With the Stars.

In order to win a Helpmann, Trevor knew he needed an American import, so introducing New York based performer Markeesha McCoy.  Markesha will play Rachel’s jealous sister Nikki Marinade.  Markesha has appeared as Justice in Rock of Ages (Vegas Original Cast) and as a Diva in Priscilla Queen of the Desert (Original NCL Cast).

From the creators of FAT SWAN and Little Orphan TrAshley, no one is safe in this wicked and ridiculous send-up.  Not even remotely based on an Oscar-winning movie, this genre defying hilarious romantic-musical-thriller will have you sending more horrific hate mail than a NO vote in the plebiscite.
