TANGO POEMA : ARGENTINE TANGO IN A MODERN WORLD. GIVEAWAY

Premiering in Sydney, TANGO POEMA brings together world renowned tango dancers, Diana Cruz and Nick Jones and leading tango orchestra  Mendoza Tango Quintet (Brisbane) to perform a night of elegant, intricate and sassy tango – through music and dance.

Diana Cruz and Nick Jones have made a name for themselves internationally through their unique and modern take on Tango. While respecting the traditions of the dance, Nick and Diana add their own flair to Tango, showcasing their respective multidisciplinary art forms, and giving them an edge on the traditional dance.

Mendoza Tango Quintet is one of Australia’s most loved Tango orchestras. Led by bandoneonist Stephen Cuttriss, the group are a favourite of dancers and Music lovers around Australia, due to Stephen’s personalised arrangements of some of the greatest pieces, and the calibre of musicians who make up the group.  Buenos Aires born singer Solange Lipchin adds the poetic and lyrical dimension to the pieces.

Mendoza Tango Quintet will weave their way through the nostalgic stories and widely varied sounds of the genre, with Nick and Diana performing their own interpretation of certain pieces. This collaboration will reveal the magic of the Tango, showing the importance of the connection and passion through music, dance and storytelling.

Following the show, the venue will transform from theatre to dance floor, inviting tango dancers to experience social dancing, in a setting otherwise known as a Milonga. A fascinating spectacle for all to watch and enjoy and learn the etiquette of a Milonga.
