Expressions of interest are now open for the 2021 Balnaves Foundation Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Fellowship at Belvoir.

The selected Fellow will be a resident artist at Belvoir in 2022 and receive $25,000 over a year-long period to create a new work. A playwright to write a new play. A director or writer/director will lead the creation of an Indigenous led stage work, whether that be a new play, an adaptation or through a devised process.

Along with the creation of a new work, the Fellowship model seeks to be deeply collaborative and to embed the Fellow in the experience of being in a company structure, provide the opportunity to work on a variety of creative process and includes the invitation to have a voice in Belvoir’s artistic decision-making processes.

If you are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander playwright, writer/director or director who wants to create a new play with Belvoir or know someone who may be interested, head to our official Fellowships and Residencies page.

Applications close Monday 4th October 2021, 6PM.
