GREAT OPERA HITS @ THE JOAN SUTHERLAND THEATRE

The world’s most famous arias are ringing out from the Joan Sutherland Theatre again as Opera Australia’s enormously popular Great Opera Hits concert series returns to Australia’s true home of opera.

Described as the ‘best of opera without the boring bits’, this 90 minute show is jam-packed with tunes that most people will be familiar with and not realise they are masterpieces that are famous around the world, not just the soundtrack from a commercial.

RIVERSIDE THEATRE DIGITAL : AN ENCHANTED EVENING WITH JULIA LEA GOODWIN AND DANIEL BELLE

On Saturday 17th October at 7.30pm, Riverside Theatres Digital will present An Enchanted Evening starring Opera superstars Julie Lea Goodwin, Daniel Belle alongside popular conductor and host Guy  Noble on piano. The evening will be available both in the theatre and live streamed to audiences’ homes, in a one-show only performance at Riverside Theatres in  Parramatta. 

‘An Enchanted Evening’ will bring Opera and Music together as Australia’s leading singers Julie Lea  Goodwin (West Side Story, La Bohème, Whiteley) and Daniel Belle (Ten Tenors, Les Misérables) are  joined on stage on the piano by conductor Guy Noble (Sydney Symphony Orchestra, La Bohème,  Opera Queensland).

SUMI JO WITH JOSE CARBO : MAD FOR LOVE @ CITY RECITAL HALL

The chance to hear or view any of international vocal sensation Sumi Jo’s many award-winning recordings is always a thrill. The opportunity to see this soprano live complete with a stunning range of dresses and her seasoned acting skill intact is a pure entertainment  delight.

Sumi Jo illustrated her tremendous range, singing in five languages throughout the concert, and presented arias from her coloratura repertoire alongside Korean  classical songs, a Baroque vocal piece by Purcell and duets from  operetta as well as a wonderfully characterised performance with baritone Jose Carbo  of Gershwin’s ‘Bess, you is my woman now’.
