PICNIC AT HANGING ROCK: THE NEW THEATRE TAKES ON LINDSAY’S DARK TALE

 

Joan Lindsay’s classic Australian novel has inspired many adaptations, most famously Peter Weir film  starring Rachel Roberts, Dominic Guard, Helen Morse, Vivean Gray and Jacki Weaver.

Weir’s adaptation is very lush with breathtaking costume design and cinematography. For this current New Theatre production director Sahn Millington has chosen Australian playwright Tom Wright’s stage adaptation which was first produced by Melbourne’s Malthouse Theatre Company back  in 2016. THE LAST DAYS OF JUDAS ISACRIOT @ BELVOIR STREET, DOWNSTAIRS

During October and November, The Actors College Of Theatre and Television (ACTT) is presenting six unique student productions, to elegantly showcase the talents of their graduating Advanced Diploma acting students.

Their first  production in time, American playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis’ THE LAST DAYS OF JUDAS ISACRIOT, has already taken place. JUDAS, expertly directed by John O’Hare, played the Belvoir Street Theatre between the 6th and 10th October
