ST IVES MEDIEVAL FAIRE: WE HAVE GIVE-AWAYS TO THIS INTERACTIVE LIVING HISTORY

Travel back through time at the fifth annual St Ives Medieval Faire this September, as Sydney’s St Ives Showground is hay-strewn and hand-forged into a fully immersive, accurate recreation of daily life in Medieval Europe.

This September, the King calls on all loyal subjects to embark on an unforgettable adventure to Sydney’s northern lands, where, amongst thick forests, lies a most captivating world of grand tournaments, brave knights, fearsome Vikings and lavish food: the St Ives Medieval Faire. Attracting over 20,000 people from across Australia annually, this two-day celebration of medieval history at St Ives Showground is the nation’s premier medieval history event, held in high regard amongst medieval re-enactors for its historical authenticity.

Feel the tremendous impact of a mighty blow being struck, and see a knight’s lance shatter into pieces, in the International Solid Lance Jousting Tournament.  Jousters from across Europe – including Lady Caroline, from Sweden, Michaël Sadde from France, Arne Koets from The Netherlands, Per Estein Prøis-Røhjell from Norway and more – will make the trip to Australia to compete in full armour on horseback in what is the Southern Hemisphere’s only solid lance joust. The Joust will also witness the return of Australian champion jouster Sir Phillip Leitch, from Victoria, and his purebred Friesian Stallion, Valiant.

Over 350 Living History Re-enactors from all around Australia will journey to St Ives to set up fully interactive encampments, giving the public the opportunity to walk through and immerse themselves in seven centuries of history: the Vikings, Byzantines, Crusades, the Hundred Years War, the Wars of the Roses and into the 17th C.

  • Birds of Prey demonstrations, Archery displays, Australia’s only Giant Trebuchet catapault
  • Mead; and Special Edition Ales custom-made for the Faire by Two Birds Brewing, inspired by  2018 jousting competitor Lady Caroline
  • VIP Upgrade: Royal Court Experience with Long Table Gourmet Feast featuring authentic medieval suckling pig, spatchcock, parsnip pies, soups, cherry tarts & more, Grazing Table, Horse-Drawn Carriage VIP Transfers, premium members’ seating for the Joust
