SHREK PULLED OUT OF THE SWAMP BY CAMPBELLTOWN THEATRE GROUP

Beauty is in the eye of the ogre in Campbelltown in September.

SHREK THE MUSICAL, presented by Campbelltown Theatre Group Inc. hits the Campbelltown Town Hall Theatre stage in September.

This beast of a show will transform the Town Hall Theatre like you’ve never seen it before. The outstanding contributions and efforts of volunteers, designers, creatives, actors and crew is a stellar reminder of how wonderful and important community theatre is.

Adapted from the hit 2001 animated film, Shrek The Musical follows Shrek, a bitter ogre, and his loyal steed, Donkey, as they embark on a quest to rescue the beautiful yet sassy Princess Fiona from a fire breathing, love-struck dragon.

Add the vertically challenged, power-hungry Lord Farquaad with a collection of fairytale misfits, and you’ve got a singing and dancing extravaganza, perfect for an afternoon or evening of great fun for everybody.

This cleverly written adaptation combines cheeky references to a handful of renowned musicals, with a bright and colourful twist. The feel-good story takes you on a journey of finding courage, love and acceptance. The creative team have been delighted to work with such a talented cast of people from the Macarthur Region, including a powerhouse youth cast.
