Shakespeare On Screen @ Riverside Theatres

From Saturday  week, 17 October, Sydney audiences will have the unique opportunity to secure front-row seats to some of London’s most outstanding recent Shakespearean stage productions in Parramatta.

Filmed live during their season run across high-profile London stages, the critically-acclaimed productions will be screened in high-definition and full surround sound on Riverside Theatres’ cinema screen.

This will be a veritable feast for Shakespeare aficionados. Here is the program in brief:-

Eve Best’s production of MACBETH with Joseph Millson in the title role, performed at the Shakespeare Globe, will screen from 17 to 27 October.

Dominic Dromgoole’s production  of A MIDSUMMER’S NIGHT’S DREAM, performed at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, and starring Michelle Terry as Titania, will screen from November 1 to 21.

Lyndsey Turner’s production of HAMLET, performed at the Barbican Centre, and starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Hamlet will screen between 7 November and 17 December.

Gregory Doran’s production of HENRY V, performed at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, and starring Alex Hassell in the title role will screen one night only on 5 December.

Shakespeare’s sweeping historical drama CORIOLANUS, performed at the Donmar Warehouse, directed by Josie Rourke and starring Tom Hiddleston in the title role will screen at the Riverside on 12 and 13 December.
