SF3 is the Smart Fone Flick Fest and is Australia’s only dedicated smartphone film festival for filmmakers of all ages. See how the humble portable smart telephone can be easily used for so much more than photographing your food and sending sms text messages.

2015 is the inaugural year, receiving more than 500 entries, but which movies will make the final top ten? All of the Top Ten Films were shown on the huge screen at Palace Chauvel Cinema. The audience was captivated by an entertaining fun night of innovative, creative short movies, with each Smart Phone movie having a running time under six and a half minutes.

Congratulations to every movie chosen as the SF3 2015 Top Ten Finalists. After the screening the winners were announced for the People’s Choice Award and all the Judge’s Awards. Congratulations to all the winners.

SF3 began because of Short and Sweet Theatre 2013. Angela Blake and Ali Crew met by being cast in a WILDCARDS play called “Weeing on a Stick” which won the 2013 Short and Sweet Play Festival Wildcards Award. It was an amazing play, simply told. Co-organisers Angela Blake and Ali Crew were inspired to give filmmakers the same opportunities that Short and Sweet gives theatre makers, and created SF3. Thank you to Angela Blake and Ali Crew for creating this great concept, and especially for all the time and effort required to organise this amazing movie festival.

SF3 2015 Best Film Winner and Best Actor Award – “The LSD Man” by Steve McGrath . . . Written and performed with great style and vigour by a very gifted actor/playwright, Steven McGrath has had many Australian television roles, but also is the man seen a million times in TV commercials over the past two decades. Featuring the filmmaker and with Gerry Sont as his interviewer. Steve McGrath was a regular and award winning contributor to Short and Sweet Theatre. THE LSD MAN is a shorter version of his ten minute play “THE LAST SONG AND DANCE MAN” which was performed 22 to 26 February 2011 at NIDA Parade Theatres SYDNEY as part of Short and Sweet Theatre 2011.
