Q AND A SCREENINGS RETURN TO THE DENDY : TWO DOUBLE PASSES

After a two-year break, live Q&As are finally back at Dendy Newtown! We are thrilled to announce five  upcoming screenings of new Australian movies, which will all be followed by intimate, in-person Q&A sessions with the incredible  talent involved with each film. 

Direct from the Sydney Film Festival, the witty, absurdist Australian black comedy Friends and Strangers will be screened on March 12 followed by a Q&A with writer/director James Vaughn. On Tuesday, March  15, join us for a special event Q&A screening of Wash My Soul in the River’s Flow in conversation with  director Philippa Bateman, hosted by Channel 10’s Narelda Jacobs. The film  celebrates the love, lives, and creative collaboration of iconic Indigenous artists Archie Roach and Ruby  Hunter. 

To celebrate the release of the new Australian sci-fi film Loveland, we’re holding a special screening on  Saturday, March 19 followed by a Q&A with writer/director Ivan Sen and screen legend Hugo Weaving.  On Thursday, March 31, we will host a screening of The Desert Said Dance, which captures the intensity of the longest non-stop offroad race in the world, The Baja 1000. The screening will be followed by a Q&A  with director Lincoln Caplice

Finally, on Sunday, April 24, join us for a screening of the inspiring new documentary When the Camera  Stopped Rolling, which honours the life and career of Australian cinema pioneer Lilias Fraser. The  screening will be followed by a Q&A with the film’s director Jane Castle and producer Pat Fiske
