PETER PAN GOES WRONG : MEDIA CALL

Peter Pan made his fully fledged appearance in J.M.Barrie’s story Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens and indeed there is a stature of Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens.

The Scottish author drew on his carefree, irresponsible and sometimes careless traits as a child.

One is encouraged to be childlike if you attend PETER PAN GOES WRONG.

This is the first production of this play within a play outside London’s West End. Originating in New Zealand it has finally reached Sydney and its premiere coincides with its 100th performance. It was nominated for an Olivier award for Best New Comedy and the London Evening Standard called this “a .joyous masterclass of physical comedy and general disaster”.

The Guide interviewed Jay Laga’aia one of the leads in the show who stated that this was one of the most gruelling and yet rewarding plays he had ever been in. He stated that if someone miscued  a pratfall they could be seriously injured but he was relieved to say that so far no-one has been hurt.

Yet all this is in the name of hilarity and if you are prepared to be entertained you will leave the theatre with a laugh.

PETER PAN GOES WRONG is playing at the Sydney Lyric Theatre for a short season from the 13th February, 2019.
