MUSE : SILENT WOMEN BROUGHT TO LIFE

Silenced women brought to life. An intimate 360 immersive experience.

Throughout history, ‘Fine art’ has been used by white male artists to objectify, sexualise, and silence female subjects.

MUSE  is a collaborative video installation piece seeking to free the muses of art history from the gaze that once captured them.

MUSE is a virtual exhibition which counters the pervasiveness of the male gaze by giving famous muses a platform of self-expression and determination. This interdisciplinary work uses video portraiture to bring these silent women to life.

This project, curated by Joanna Joy and produced by The Revolt Collective, aims to call together a community of women, of female writers, actors, and artists.

Each night will have two screening opportunities and a talk given by an industry professional on a related topic.
