MAD MARCH HARE ANNOUNCES FOR 2018

MAD MARCH HARE Theatre has announced their work for 2018.

“In 2018 we aim to continue our mission to tell stories with strong female protagonists, challenging themes, outstanding production values and basically well…to just provide a damn good night at the theatre! “

The company  will be returning to two renowned and well-loved independent theatre venues: Kings Cross Theatre (KXT) and The Old Fitz.

Two productions have been  announced for 2018:

YOU GOT OLDER
Mae returns home to help take care of Dad and — maybe (a little) — herself. You Got Older is a tender and darkly comic new play about family, illness, and cowboys — and how to remain standing when everything you know comes crashing down around you.

WINNER - 2015 Obie Award for Playwriting and Performance
THE KILROYS LIST - 1st Place - 2015
FINALIST - 2015 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize
NOMINEE - 2015 4 Drama Desk Awards including Best Play

Kings Cross Theatre July 13-August 4
EURYDICE
Sarah Ruhl re-imagines the classic myth of Orpheus through the eyes of its heroine. Dying too young on her wedding day, Eurydice must journey to the Underworld, where she reunites with her father and struggles to remember her lost love. With contemporary characters, ingenious plot twists, and breathtaking visual effects, the play is a fresh look at a timeless love story.

"Rhapsodically beautiful. A weird and wonderful new play" - an inexpressibly moving theatrical fable about love, loss and the pleasures and pains of memory. - The New York Times

Old Fitz Theatre Nov 14 – Dec

2017 was a huge year for Mad March Hare seeing the successful productions of Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo at the Old Fitz and Dry Land at the KXT, (a co-production with Outhouse Theatre Company), both shows received audience and critical acclaim and both productions now enjoy nominations for a variety of theatre awards soon to be announced.

“We worked with 12 actors, 8 designers, 3 stage managers two resident companies and underwent rigorous audition processes for both productions inviting over 200 actors into the room to share their work with us.”
