JEAN KITTSON AND ANNIE BYRON TO STAR IN GAIL LOUW’S ‘TWO SISTERS’

Acclaimed Producer Adam Liberman and Emanuel Synagogue are excited to present Gail Louw’s TWO SISTERS, starring renowned actress and comedian, Jean Kittson and veteran Sydney stage actress Annie Byron. The play is being directed by acclaimed Sydney based actor and director Nicholas Papademetriou.

Included amongst Liberman’s credits as a theatre producer thus far are Freud’s Last Session with Henri Szeps (Theatre Royal), Blonde Poison with Belinda Giblin (Sydney Opera House), The Time Machine with Mark Lee (NIDA Playhouse), and Lip Service with Amanda Muggleton (MTC’s Lawler Theatre).

In Louw’s TWO SISTERS, audiences will meet sisters Rika and Edith, who are very close but about to discover a shocking truth about their past. Can they adapt or will they now, after seventy years, become strangers?

The play is set on a kibbutz in Israel in 1996, it reveals the politics, rivalry, sweetness, humour and sadness inextricably entwining the sisters’ lives. It explores sibling relationships and their often wildly differing perceptions of past events.

The play confronts the realities of growing old; maintaining or relinquishing independence, the need for others, and complex emotions including selfishness, guilt and regret.
