HANDEL : FRIEND OR FOE? @ BURRADOO

This concert, entitled HANDEL ; FRIEND OR FOE? will feature fabulous works for 2 baroque cellos by George Frideric Handel, Bononcini, Geminiani, Lanzetti, Porpora and Haym.

The concert’s focus will be the 18th century London music scene rivalries that split the music-loving public into 2 broad musical camps.

On one side were the defenders of the more conventional Italian opera style, who idolised the Italian cellist and composer, Giovanni Bononcini (1670-1747), and brought him to London. Meanwhile, enthusiasts of Handel’s new-style Italian operas threw their lot in with the more recently arrived German.

Date & Time: Saturday 8 March at 2:30pm at the Rose Room,51 F Sunninghill Ave, Burradoo NSW 2576.

Tix: Adults $38.00, Conc. $35
