FILM CRITICS CIRCLE OF AUSTRALIA’S 2019 AWARDS

If the AACTA’s are regarded as the equivalent to the American Academy Awards then the Film Critics Circle Of Australia (FCCA) can . be regarded as our Golden Globes which are also judged by film critics, without the glitz and glamour of the Hollywood event.

Held traditionally at the Paddington RSL Club, actors, creatives and film critics come together and mix in a casual and relaxed atmosphere. As a result there is much intermingling amongst those sitting at various tables.

The Awards have been graced by such luminaries as Dame Angela Lansbury,  james Earl Jones, Simon Baker and Barry Humphries.

‘The Nightingale’, producers Kristina Ceyton, Steve Hutensky, Jennifer Kent, Bruna Papandrea , was announced as Best Film with, the film’s star Aisling Franciosi being awarded Best Actress.
