Felicia Aroney has an upcoming exhibition at the Milk Factory Gallery, Bowral in September 2018.

Born in 1970 in Perth of Greek decent, Felicia’s art is all about storytelling and connections. Her greatest influences are drawn from the fusion of her Australian upbringing and European background.

Australia’s wondrous flora and the textural visuals seen on my European travels have fused my subject and technique as one.

Felicia Aroney has made a career out of bringing flowers to life on canvas. It is tactile, colourful and full of depth. She is renowned for her textual botanical designs.

Working with oils and acrylics, Felicia utilises a highly sculptural mark-making process, using a palette knife to layer and shape the paint until it stands in relief from the canvas. This combined method creates a recognisable and distinctive style. Her richly textured works have a sensual, gentle beauty with thick layers of paint that dance and curl off the canvas.

Felicia has been a finalist in numerous Australian art awards including the Mosman, Hornsby and Waverley art prizes. She has exhibited widely in solo and group exhibitions both in Australia and internationally, including Hong Kong, Singapore and Seoul art fairs.

Her collaborations include designs for make-up guru Napoleon Perdis in 2014 & 2017, Lavender Hill Interiors 2017, Designer Rugs 2018 and featured on TV Shows Open Homes Australia and Ready Set Reno 2018 to name a few.

Felicia Aroney‘s solo exhibition will open at Bowral’s Milk Factory Gallery [Facebook] 8th September, 2018.
