ENSEMBLE THEATRE CONVERSATIONS : TREVOR ASHLEY

This week Artistic Director Mark Kilmurry talks to Australian cabaret legend Trevor Ashley.

From cabaret to theatre, Trevor has donned many hats including performer, director and singer. Stepping onto the Ensemble stage in 2016 with his sold out cabaret BARBARA AND ME, a soaring musical journey through the highs, lows and illustrious career of icon Barbara Streisand, Trevor has dazzled audiences with his highly original cabarets including LIZA (ON AN E) and LIZA’S BACK (IS BROKEN).

Ashley has worked internationally in New York, London and across Asia and also won the Sydney Theatre Award for Best Cabaret for his show I’M EVERY WOMAN commissioned by the Sydney Opera House.

Led by Ensemble Theatre’s Artistic Director Mark Kilmurry, each week people can tune in on Facebook for Ensemble Theatre’s latest news and a glimpse behind the scenes.

Ensemble Conversations has featured interviews with actors and creatives. Ensemble Ambassadors Georgie Parker, Todd McKenney, Kate Raison and Brian Meegan, writer Melanie Tait, director John Bell, Priscilla Jackman, actors Ben Wood, John Wood, Sharon Millerchip, Darren Gilshenan and The Chaser’s Andrew Hansen, Craig Reucassel and Chris Taylor, Australian writer Joanna Murray-Smith, Directors Kate Champion, Wesley Enoch, Iain Sinclair, Garth Holcombe, Jamie Oxenbould, Huw Higginson, Hannah Waterman and former Ensemble Artistic Director Sandra Bates have been part of the series answering questions about the world of theatre and television.
