BLAK MARKETS IS ON AGAIN SUNDAY

The Blak Markets is a great chance to buy art and products directly from the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who made them in the knowledge that the profit goes back to Indigenous communities.

Blak Markets will be held at the National Centre for Indigenous Excellence [Facebook] on Sunday 11th of March and will also feature an exhibition and panel discussion  ‘At the Heart of Sport‘.

The Blak Markets event will feature Aboriginal arts, craft, performances and foods from local stallholders.  The day will begin with a welcome to country followed by live music, dance performances, workshops.  Blak markets will also feature a new art exhibition At the Heart of Sport.

Sport has been an inspiration for many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and a way of life for many in our community which is why for Blak Markets second exhibition, artists were given one word to inspire their creativity -sport and  At the Heart of Sport exhibition was born to be opened at the Blak markets at NCIE, Redfern on Sunday March 11.
