ARTSLAB: UNCANNED. A FESTIVAL OF EMERGING ARTISTS TO CHALLENGE AND INSPIRE

SHORTCUTS

Shopfront Arts Co-op presents  ArtsLab: UNCANNED, their 2019 Festival of New Work.

Now in its 12th year, Shopfront’s flagship emerging artist-in-residence program, ArtsLab, continues in its commitment to supporting emerging artists by providing a safe space in which artists are invited to trial, test, fail, succeed and learn as they create powerful new work.

These explosive works will challenge traditional theatrical form, question our perceptions, and incite conversation around the social and political.

The 2018/19 artists-in-residence include Harry McGee, Nicole Pingon, Madeleine Stedman, and Socks in Jocks who Shopfront has supported through a six-month residency to develop an original
work offering them access to free space, support and mentorship from industry leaders such as Zoe Coombs Marr, Tessa Leong, Malcolm Whittaker, Martyn Coutts and Matt Prest, alongside Jane
Phegan as season dramaturg.
