TROPTALKS: TICKETS NOW AVAILABLE

TROPFEST has announced the program of  TROPTALKS presented by Western Sydney University (13 – 16 February 2018).  TROPTALKS returns to their new home at the University’s Parramatta City and Sydney City campuses as part of a week-long extravaganza of events.

“TropTalks, presented by Western Sydney University, will shed light on Indigenous perspectives, genre, new technologies, and adapting stories for film. Add Trop Jr, TropJam, the Craft Awards and Opening Party, and you’ve got an action-packed week of film festivities!” said Tropfest Founder and Executive Chair John Polson.

In recent times, Tropfest lovers have made it clear they want to help support this uniquely Australian festival and make it sustainable. Purchasing tickets for things like TropTalks not only enhances your experience, but does indeed help support our organisation,” said Polson.

Western Sydney University’s Vice-President (People and Advancement), Mr Angelo Kourtis, said the University is pleased to sponsor TropTalks – Tropfest’s ideas and education program – for the second year.

“We are delighted to once again be a partner of TropTalks, and bring this exciting public event to Western Sydney – a region home to more than two million people, and the cultural and geographic heart of Sydney,” said Kourtis.

Tropfest has grown significantly since its humble beginnings at the Tropicana Café in Sydney’s Darlinghurst in 1993, where an eager crowd of 200 showed up for a short film screening organised by Tropfest founder John Polson.  This year, tens of thousands of film lovers are expected to enjoy short films from 16 finalists in beautiful Parramatta Park.
