“The art of making art is putting it together”

Inspired by George Seurat’s magnificent painting, A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte, Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s soaring musical is itself an artistic masterpiece.

The piece is one of the most acclaimed musicals of our time, and earned the Pulitzer Prize in Drama for its deeply insightful and highly personal examination of life through art and the artist.

This musical is an experiment in form and aesthetic, dictated by questions concerning art, children, and one’s legacy.
