Operantics presents Bach’s St Matthew’s Passion

Operantics will present ST MATTHEW’S PASSION by Bach in superb surroundings for a good cause.  Depicting the story of Christ’s capture and crucifixion with text from the book of Matthew, this powerful and dramatic work is a fitting choice following the Easter weekend.

Operantics is an independent opera company dedicated to championing young emerging artists and exploring diverse repertoire. Since its first year, the company has presented two Australian premieres and provided opportunities for more than forty young artists in Sydney.

They will be presenting two performances of this, Bach’s seminal work, with orchestra in the spectacular St Stephen’s Uniting Church, which has been generously donated by the Rev Ken Day.

Proceeds from ticket sales will be used by Sydney Care to provide vital services and support to families and elderly people living below the poverty line in our local communities.

Operantics [Facebook] will present BACH’S ST MATTHEW’S PASSION at St Stephen’s Uniting Church , 197 Macquarie Street, Sydney, on April 7th at 2:30pm and April 8th at 2:30pm.
