NEW LIGHT: RECENT PAINTINGS AND PRINTS @ ARO GALLERY DARLINGHURST

Queensland artist Clinton Barker makes his Sydney debut in July with his exhibition NEW LIGHT : PAINTINGS AND PRINTS at Darlinghurst’s ARO Gallery.

The official opening will take place on the 14th July between 5 pm and  8 pm with guest speaker Basil Hall of Canberra’s Basil Hall Editions.

Clinton Barker is an established award-winning professional artist whose work has been shown many times in Queensland and northern NSW galleries.

His involvement in art began in his early childhood when he was taught printmaking skills by his grandmother.

He now works principally in oils on canvas, but his interest continues in printmaking as a discrete form of expression.

Barker describes his work as semi-abstract figurative representation.

He says, “I do believe that my work delivers a message to the viewer, and that’s where it takes on its value as a way of communicating.”

DATES FOR THE DIARY:-

The works will be on view from Wednesday 12 July, closing on Sunday 23 July, with the gallery open 9am to 5pm except on Monday and Tuesday.
