Retro Film Festival- main

Cinema lovers take note- Today  North Shore’s lovely Cremorne Orpheum cinema commenced its first ever Hollywood Retro Film Festival curated by the inimitable Margaret Pomeranz.

In the words of Ms Pomeranz, ‘I’m so excited to announce the first ever HOLLYWOOD RETRO FILM FESTIVAL. Many of the 22 films haven’t been seen in a cinema in decades and will look terrific in HD digital. There’s no substitute for seeing these wonderful films on the big screen with an audience so I hope that you can see some, or all of these classic films in this first season celebration of Hollywood classics from the 1930s to the 1960s. See you at the movies!’

The Festival is screening a treasure trove of films from classic Hollywood. The Festival includes Australian Premiere Screenings of digitally remastered Sunset Boulevard, the 1950 Billy Wilder classic starring William Holden and Gloria Swanson and On the Waterfront, the American crime drama film directed by Elia Kazan starring Marlon Brando.
