GO YOUR OWN WAY- THE STORY OF CHRISTINE McVIE has returned to Sydney, now at the beautifully refurbished Glen Street Theatre up on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

In front of a very appreciative audience, the life and many loves of Fleetwood Mac’s Christine McVie came vividly to life. We were given interesting and sometimes humorous backgrounds to many of the songs.

Catherine Alcorn expertly delivers a wonderful impersonation of the legendary singer, and has a powerful voice featuring a superb range. Alcorn was supported by great backing singer Kirby Burgess as Stevie Nicks and a good three piece band.

The show, written by Diana Simmonds, is fresh from the Adelaide and Melbourne Cabaret Festivals, and spans from the beginnings of Fleetwood Mac to McVie’s career post the band. There was a little bit of ‘selective’ editing involved in the choice of the newspaper headlines used.

Over its history, 12 musicians have been members of the British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac.

The multi-award winning eleventh studio album RUMOURS is well covered, and on the night we heard hits such as “Everywhere” “Songbird” “Little Lies” “Say That You Love Me” “Don’t Stop” “Go Your Own Way” and many more.

Highly Recommended. A delightful and very entertaining 80 minutes plus one encore, left the audience wanting much more.

GO YOUR OWN WAY – THE STORY OF CHRISTINE McVIE opened at the Glen Street Theatre, Belrose on Wednesday 28 May 2014 and runs until Sunday 1 June 2014.
