BONDI FEAST FESTIVAL : 18 – 29 JULY @ THE BONDI PAVILION

The Bondi Pavilion is alive and kicking for its 5th year of the popular BONDI FEAST festival.

This year the Festival is bigger than ever, stretching over ten nights with 90+ performances and 150+ artists.  The festival runs from the 18 – 29th of July.

Festival Directors Rachel Chant and Phil Spencer have filled all possible spaces in the Pavilion with 40 vibrant shows to choose from. You can visit:  The Big Theatre, The Mini Theatre, The Little Theatre, The Ballroom, The Gallery and even one of the toilet blocks will be a temporary theatre – The Changeroom.  For shakers and movers, there is also a Walking Tour into the back streets of Bondi, at 6.45pm from Tuesday 25th July until Saturday the 29th.

“At BONDI FEAST, we make it our business to chock the Pav full of the finest joke merchants, storytellers, entertainers and art makers from across the country”, Chant said. Spencer added, “We’ll also be transforming the venue into a winter wonderland – making the Bondi Pavilion somewhere that you’ll want to rock up, grab a bite, sip a mulled wine and feast on a menu of sensational live shows across the fortnight”.

Upstairs next to the drinks is a pop-up bar with a new food vendor every night from 6pm to close. You may need cash to buy the food as was the case on the first night, but the drinks bar accepts cards.

Tessa Waters did a splendid job as Hostess for the Gala Night and is definitely worth catching in her three shows she’ll be doing. She introduced snippets from the festival including:  joke merchant Luke Joseph Ryan, storyteller and ukulele player Stu Bowden, theatre mavericks Pierce Wilcox and Harriet Gilles, funny maker Jen Carnovale and the lung busting voices of the funny Blush Opera.

Hop along to the charismatic Bondi Pavilion and enjoy the warm atmosphere on these cold winter nights.
