The brainchild of virtuoso violinist Madeleine Easton, who has been based in London for 17 years, Bach Akademie Australia [Facebook] is the only Australian ensemble that is completely/wholly dedicated to the music of J.S Bach.
Up next for the company is a celebration at St Francis Assisi Church in Paddington on April 21st, THE SACRED MUSIC OF J.S.BACH.
Soloists include Susannah Lawergren (courtesy of The Song Company), Richard Butler, Toby Cole, Andrew Fysh, Richard Fomison, Daniel Yeadon and Daniel Peres da Costa (both appear courtesy of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music).
The program for Bach Akademie Australia’s Sydney performance on Saturday April 21 at 8pm at St Francis of Assisi Church in Paddington includes:
- the much-loved Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 in F Major BWV 1047
- Gottes Zeit ist die beste Zeit (Actus Tragicus) BWV 106
- Sonata No. 3 in G minor BWV 1029 for Viola da Gamba and harpsichord and
- Kantate Er rufet seinen Schafen BWV 175.
Having worked with the crème de la crème of the music world internationally, Easton brings distinguished musical scholarship and authenticity to her interpretations of the works by this great musical genius.
