ART MONTH SYDNEY RETURNS IN MARCH

Art Month Sydney returns in March for a massive city-wide celebration of contemporary art and artists, with a diverse program of unique exhibitions, workshops, talks, tours, studio visits, precinct nights, family fun and more.

The month-long festival transforms the city, as galleries and creative spaces throw open their doors and stay open late every Thursday in honour of Sydney’s thriving arts ecology.

Returning in 2018, the infamous Collectors’ Space exhibition (1 – 17 March) at MAY SPACE, Waterloo offers a glimpse into the private collections of some of Sydney’s art luminaries.

New initiatives, Present exhibition (3 – 31 March) at Darren Knight Gallery in Waterloo shines the spotlight on exciting, emerging artists working without gallery representation, and Clay Date (15 – 24 March) at 541 Art Space is an exciting new exhibition of contemporary ceramics.

Art Month Sydney will fire up after dark in a different part of the city each Thursday (and the last Friday) with the much-loved Art at Night: Precinct Nights in Chippendale-Redfern, Paddington-Woollahra, East Sydney, Waterloo-Green Square, and St Leonard’s. Galleries in each precinct will open late for curated Art Month walking tours, followed by spectacular Art at Night parties until late.

Explore a creative corner of the city with the Inner West Open Studio Trail from Balmain to Marrickville on 10-11 March and 17-18 March, or go behind-the-scenes at Parramatta Artist Studios on Saturday, 24 March, and cap off the month at The Other Art Fair at Australian Technology Park on 23-25 March.

Art Month Sydney is proudly supported by Principal Sponsor City of Sydney, Major Sponsors AON/Hiscox and Woollahra Council.
