It’s going to feel like déjà vu at this year’s Logies with three previous winners and three previously nominated contenders in the running for Australian television’s highest award; The Gold Logie.

Scott Cam, winner of the 2014 Gold Logie goes up against 2013 Gold Logie winner Asher Keddie and 2012 Gold Logie winner Hamish Blake. Joining the race for the golden statute is Hamish’s partner and funny man Andy Lee, and Home and Away star Stephen Peacocke who is going for his second Gold Logie nomination. Going for her fourth nomination is The Project co-host, Carrie Bickmore.

It’s only six weeks until the 57th Logies, and the complete list of the nominees was announced this week at the 28 Skybar Lounge at Crown Metropol. Television and radio host Amanda Keller and The Block judge,Shaynna Blaze hosted the event.

Love Child received the most nominations with seven, followed by INXS: Never Tear Us Apart with six. Hamish & Andy’s Gap Year South America and Home and Away both received four nominations. This year, The Most Outstanding Comedy Program category will return to the Logies. The industry-voted category had been absent from Logie ceremonies since 2009. In the interim, the comedy nominees had awkwardly competed with other genre shows in the Most Outstanding Light Entertainment Program category. Interestingly, The Voice is the only variety or talent show that will be up against four scripted comedies (Bogan Hunters, The Chaser’s Media Circus, The Checkout, and Shaun Micallef’s Mad as Hell) in this year’s Most Outstanding Entertainment Program.

Four-time Grammy winner Sam Smith and two-time nominee Meghan Trainor will be performing as part of the entertainment at the Logies ceremony. Sam Smith will be in Australia as part of his world tour.

As in previous years, Foxtel is ranking up the nominations. Both Danielle Cormack and Nicole da Silva from Wentworth are nominated for Most Outstanding Actress. Wentworth is up in The Most Outstanding Drama Series category. In The Most Popular Lifestyle Program category, Selling Houses Australia and Grand Designs Australia compete against long running shows such as Gateway and Better Homes and Gardens. Sky News is in the running for The Most Outstanding News Coverage with its compelling story “What Is Metadata?”

Almost the same as last year, House Husbands, Offspring and Home and Away are up for silver in The Most Popular Drama Program. Asher Keddie and Julia Morris are the only two from the previous year to be nominated again for Most Popular Actress. For the first time in the Most Popular Actress category, newcomer Jessica Marais is representing two different shows from two different networks: Carlotta (ABC) and Love Child (Nine).

The 57th TV Week Logie Awards ceremony, from the Palladium at Crown Casino, will be held on Sunday 3 May.
